Karachi: Annual Picnic for Khanwada-e-Shohada-e-Millat-e-Jaffaria Pakistan
Shaheed Foundation Pakistan serves the families of martyrs of Millat-e-Jaffaria Pakistan across the land scape of beloved country and is currently serving 1706 families of martyrs in 62 cities and towns of Pakistan. Alhamdulillaah the infinite blessings of Holy Masoomeen [Alaihimussalam] and strong encouragement by the millat enables SFP to undertake regular programs for over-all grooming of the children and youth of the families of our benefactors as well as for the recreation of ladies and elderly members of the families, so that they remain fully integrated in the social circles and are accorded the dignity fitting their lofty status.
Among annual programs conducted in different cities by the local working committees, a very healthy and interesting event is the annual picnic which is eagerly awaited both by the families of martyrs as well as the working members as it is a unique occassion to personally serve children from different families and interact with them, since in normal routine every family is served by one working member only. This is therefore a very highly awaited occassion since children from all families, one gets the honour to personally serve.
As for children and youth it is a fun day with healthy indoor and outdoor activities and games alongside properly charted out program for informal counselling. Besides children the ladies and elderlies from the families of these benefactors of our millat especially enjoy the rare mega-outing and are seen very very happy interacting with children from different families.
This year`s annual picnic program was conducted at a farm house located on the suburbs of the megapolis on friday, 20th June 2014.
Approximately 1200 people including children, ladies and elderlies belonging mainly from Khanwada-e-Shohada-e-Millat-e-Jaffaria Pakistan Karachi graced the occassion. Besides several families came to join these families from interior of Sindh like Larkana, Nawabshah and Khairpur after a continued journey of several hours just the same morning.
The managing team of the Karachi working committee had painstakingly arranged an elaborate system for picking up families from various parts of the mega-polis and arrived on the picnic spot in the morning where a sumptuous breakfast was served. The families from interior Sindh were accompanied by their working members and despite hours of continuous journey their morale was very high especially the children infact were motivating their elderly members bringing them to enjoy splashing water in swimming pools for killing the scorching summer heat.
Many indoor and outdoor games were managed on the occassion by working brothers, some of the indoor games included, Ono, Ludo, Bowling, Frisbees, Rings, Aiming Board Games, Caram Board etc. while the outdoor games included cricket and football. Besides colorful balloon for young children and various catchy shapes of floating things for young children in the pool made the young children`s day in particular who enjoyed swimming almost the entire day. Youth were seen espcially enjoying water slides in particular. Elderlies were also equally enthusiastic and it really showed that they are so young at heart when you see them playing all sorts of interesting games.
Besides for them it was a wonderful day to share and know more about each other which is so much necessary especially in area like Karachi where there are very rare occassions to have a marathon meeting, discussions and chit chats due to tough schedules of busy industrial city`s life.
Special arrangements were made to continue the supply of cold water and lemonade since it was a humid and sunny june day here and scores of working members had been working day and night for this projects in their own capacities. Stalls for announcements for coordinating the entire efforts, game-spots, chill-spots for take-away eatables and drinks, `amanatdari` for safe handling of valuables of the children and families while they enjoyed their day; were some of the high-lights that depicted a well thought out program.
In the resting areas which were spacious tented lawns projector was set up and Islamic movies were shown which were thoroughly enjoyed especially by the elderlies and it was a very healthy and useful new addition.
The program was conducted very well by ladies working members for families while working brothers served the children and the elderlies. Small and attractive gifts for encouragement of children were given through different activities like manqabat khwani and answers questions related related to Islamic and General knowledge.
Namaz-e-Zohrain was led by Maulana Haider Abbas Abdi who has been associated with this cause of martyrs for a long time and prior to namaz he also addressed the children briefly telling them about importance of martyrdom.
Followed by namaz, a sumptuous lunch was served which was a comprehensive package besides fruits and sweets. Since Summer days are typically long here and infact it coincided closely with the longest day of the year, children still had a lot of time to enjoy after brief rest.
Finally in the evening a high tea was served in the honour of families and they were requested to begin to pack up and leave the venue.
Central Committee Shaheed Foundation Pakistan wholeheartedly and humbly thanks the noblest Khanwadgan of our beloved martyrs for accepting the invitation and gracing the occassion with their presence. In the same breath, we are humbled that the noble families over-looked shortcomings and magnanimously gave the program their unanimous approval.
We beseech the Imam of our time to accept this imperfect effort for bringing smiles on the faces of the children of our martyrs who are our greatest asset, according to traditions pleasing whom is like pleasing the Almighty. May Imam [atfs] be the care taker, guide and over-seer for all of us at each and every step.
Central Committee also would like to extend heartiest thanks and congratulations to working brothers as well as the ladies volunteering team for effectively coordinating the entire effort with lot of patience and sincerity for bringing joy to the noble families of our beloved martyrs. Words fall short and only Sayyida Zehra [Salaamullaah Alaiha] would give the ajr for taking care of her these beloved children.
We thank the Millat-e-Jaffaria Pakistan and all the several momineen from all over the world, our working teams abroad and everyone who in one way or another contribute in making this project a success every year, in particular, as well as all of you whose hearts beat in unison with the proponents of this lofted cause of Martyrs of Millat-e-Jaffaria Pakistan, for your ever so strong moral support and encouragement.
Inshallaah with the blessings of Holy Masoomeen [Alaihimussalaam] the system of serving the families of martyrs will continue to strengthen further still. May Allaah grant us steadfastness in the path and give us insight to understand the rights and cause of martyrs and follow in their footsteps to join their exalted company.
My Lord, grant me complete severance of my relations with everything else and total submission to You. Enlighten the eyes of our hearts with the light of their looking at You to the extent that they penetrate the veils of light and reach the Source of Grandeur, and let our souls get suspended by the glory of Your sanctity.
My Lord, make me one of those whom You call and they respond; when You look at them and they are thunderstruck by Your majesty. You whisper to them secretly and they work for You openly. - Munajat-e-Maula Ali (AS)
