Quetta: Annual Picnic 2015 for Families of Martyrs
Quetta is the provincial capital of the restive south western province of Pakistan which has for last three decades remained a hotbed of terrorism and has witnessed gory tragedies resulting in martyrdom of multitude of momineen. The first recorded incident of systematic attrocities took place during the draconian regime of the military dictator in July 1985 when an Azadari procession was forcibly stopped in Quetta and resulted in martyrdom of dozens of Hazara Shia muslims.
This was about the same time when other such systematic incidents of genocide were being conceived elsewhere including Jalalabad Gilgit tragedy May 1988 [at least 800 martyred in systematic lashkar kashi] and in Dera Ismail Khan [1988 Ashura tragedy].
Quetta, specially has been a target because it contains a concentrated population of shia muslims on the cross roads of a geo-politically significant region.
Tragedies after tragedies, some of them taking hundreds of martyrs with them in one go, like the Alamdar Road Jan 2013 tragedy and Hazara Town Feb 2013 tragedy as well as dozens of other such incidents in which groups of momineen were systematically targetted like the Saneha-e-Cadet Police 2004, Saneha-e-Masjid-e-Kalan or the more recent Saneha-e-Mastung and innumerable incidents of individually targetted martyrdom of momineen paint a melancholic picture of this urban centre once considered a very vibrant centre of Shia muslims. Almost without any exaggeration, every second family here directly knows a martyr's family or has one or martyr in their own family.
With the country's strategists treating terrorist groups like the proscribed Lashkar-e-Jhangvi as assets, for last some decades, an outfit whose hate mongering terrorist roam about freely in the city orchestrating attacks after attacks against the oppressed shia muslims, the situation is like that of an invisible siege for Shia muslims in Quetta. Where-as terrrorists often enjoy official protection and protocol and media often flash these pictures, the hazara momineen on the other hand are often discriminated against by the local apparatus, hence the broad day light martyrdom of hazara momineen is a regular weekly feature of the city.
Assisted jail breaks / escapes for enmasse free-ing of terrorists is the second important feature of this city, such is the extent of penetration of terrorism and terrorist sympathizers.
Irrespective however, there is no let up in tall claims of the concerned authorities.
Of course such an environment leaves a very bad psychological impact on the inmate momineen and especially the families of martyrs and its necessary to arrange healthy activities for outing and socialization for the families of martyrs so that, they can for sometime take their focus off from the tragic happenings around them frequently and refresh themselves by enjoying the nature and company of families of different martyrs.
In line with the same tradition Shaehed Foundation Pakistan Quetta's Hazara Town Zone arranged a picnic for families of Martyrs of Hazara Town Quetta at ameeri taaj mehal at hazara town on Sunday 7th June 2015.
The program started in the morning at 10 am when all the families assembled and were formally received at the picnic spot, a sumptuous refreshment was arranged on the occassion. More than 1200 individuals comprising a majority of ladies and children participated in the picnic. During picnic, SFP volunteers have arranged several games like the dart, ludo and carromboard among other activities which were thoroughly enjoyed by the children as well as the elderlies. Different competitions were also arranged in which the winning children were awarded prizes.
Namaz-e-Zohrain prayer was led by Maulana Syed Akhlaq Moosvi and was followed by a delicious traditional lunch in which Kabli Pulao and Custard was served.
During the picnic a small 'canteen' was managed much on the same pattern as the 'Chill Spot' concept of Karachi picnic which saw regular supplies of light refreshments for every member of the Khanwada-e-Shohada through a token based system.
For boys and male children of families a swimming pool facility was available and they thoroughly enjoyed it.
In the ladies section indoor games were managed by the ladies volunteers very effectively engaging every one from the Khanwada-e-Shohada.
Quetta's Zone 1 coordinator, working members of SFP, some regular volunteers for the cause of Khanwada-e-Shohada, ladies from the families of all these as well as other ladies volunteers who are on the teaching faculty of Madrasa-e-Daarul Quran Imam Hussain [AS] worked in able and effective manner to make the event a well organized effort, which Alhamdulillaah concluded as scheduled and received deep commendations from the Families and Children of Martyrs.
Shaheed Foundation Pakistan Central Committee wholeheartedly thanks the families of martyrs for accepting these humble efforts. Central Committee would also like to thank all the working members of Quetta team, ladies volunteers from the families of working members and those from Madrasa-e-Darul Quran Imam Hussain [AS], Hazara Town Zone Incharge and concerned Area Incharge for extending sincere services for the families of the martyrs and contributing as duti-conscious member of Millat-e-Jaffaria Pakistan.
May Allaah bless all your sincere efforts and bestow on you His Choicest Blessings and Bounties of Either Worlds By the Right of Hazrat-e-Mohammad wa Aal-e-Mohammad.[SAWW].
May Allaah By the Right of Martyrs, Enable Us to Serve the Cause of Martyrs in the manner it Deserves, Till Our Last Breath, Till We Join Company With the Beloved Martyrs in their Ranks.
