Islamabad : Picnic for the Families of Shohada of Rawalpindi and Islamabad 2015 .
Like previous years Shaheed Foundation Pakistan 's working committee in north region planned a picnic during the summer season for the esteemed families of Shohada-e-Millat-e-Jaffaria Pakistan, especially the children for providing the families a healthy activity in order to maintain their spirits high and instilling confidence by facilitating integration with other families and hence preparing them for future challenges. Such activities help bring discipline and sense of responsibility and prove to be an accomplishment. Yearly picnic is an event that the children of Shohada wait for the entire year ,for it carries a lot of fanfare for these little angels.
This year's picnic was organized on Sunday, June 14, 2015. Not only the families from Rawalpindi and Islamabad, but also from nearby cities such as Attock, Wah Cantt and Taxila joined the picnic. The families coming from cities other than Rawalpindi and Islamabad were invited a day before and the arrangements for their overnight stay and dinner were accordingly made .
Around 7 am, the attendees of the picnic started arriving at Markaz-e-Nighidasht, Rawalpindi. A light breakfast was servedfor those who arrived early. By 8 am, the participants left from Islamabad to Murree.
At 9am, first stop was made at a beautiful park on the outskirts of Islamabad. Some families joined the picnic at this point. This park was not only a lush green ground, but was also fully equipped with rides for young children. Soon after the arrival ,all the children got busy enjoying themselves on the rides .
Women volunteers arranged a session for the ladies where Tarana-e-Shahadat was presented and various topics were discussed.
On the other hand, the youth and elderly members of the martyrs' families surrounded the scholar, translator of Quran and hadees, Molana Mohammad Ali Fazil who gave a speech shedding light on the current issues and our morals /civility .
The participants keenly listened to this speech, as the topics were extensively useful and beneficial.
The other elderly enjoyed various serene and tranquil places within the park and enjoyed themselves. During this time, the volunteers prepared light refreshments such as Tea besides arranging for confectionaries and cold water for the participating families of martyrs and working members serving them.
By 12 pm, everyone left via Murree for their next destination which was about one and a half hour away. A team of Foundation`s volunteers formally received everyone on the destination. These volunteers were already and had been assigned the responsibility of serving lunch in the honour of families of martyrs.
This destination was at a greater height that gave a view of absolutely breath taking scenery with high and low terrains and swiftly flowing water through them and this panoramic view was a real treat for every participant.
After the arrival, various sports such as badminton, balls and cricket bats, footballs, were distributed amongst the children. Other than that, the arrangement of dart and shooting was also arranged.
The children were given a ticket in order to participate in the game. The safety arrangements were made before hand for the protection of the children. Namaz-e-Zohrain prayer was offered and the prayers were led by Maulana Sahib. Soon afterwards the participants kept playing various games or enjoying the running water .
Upon everyone`s return,a sumptuous lunch was served and watermelon fruit offered. As soon as the lunch ended, the skies were covered with thick black clouds that later resulted in heavy rainfall.
Some children enjoyed the heavy showers and others preferred to stay under the shelter. As the weather got chilly, everyone returned to either the shelter or their buses where ladies and elderlies were already seated.
Fresh mangoes were presented to all the picnic participants. Ladies-volunteers played Islami-trivia and distributed prizes amongst the participants.
At the end, all the participants and Molana sahib were thanked and the buses were returned to the endpoint. All the volunteers made it easy for the families to reach their homes safely. Families that travelled from other cities stayed over night at Markaz-e-Nighidasht, Rawalpindi and they were bade farewell the next morning. We pray that Imam-e-Asr (atfj) accepts this small efforts.
Shaheed Foundation Pakistan Central Committee wholeheartedly thank the families of martyrs for accepting these humble efforts.
